not sure if this is good or not?

Ok so here is my question...
on the face of this it looks like growth is an awesome thing.
and for the builder, the construction supplier, the transportation entity and all that support new construction these are good times.
but when the major growth is in the "multi unit housing" sector that tells me less people are building or buying their own homes and are now renting.
could the real estate tsunami caused from disastrous inflated prices and the banks that approved 100% loans on those upside down properties be heading for us?

Interesting that multi unit housing was so prominent. Don't know what that means, and can't even speculate. Maybe someone who knows more will chip in.

Here in Huntsville there are single family housing starts everywhere. My fishing partner is a framer, and the main problem the building industry here has is finding people who want to work. If it weren't for illegal aliens, nothing would get built in this town. Despite what anyone may say, they aren't taking jobs away from Americans, they are doing jobs our spoiled, lazy asses won't do. The future ain't lookin good in that dept either.

I believe material costs inflated the housing market a lot. $7 sheet goods shot up to $50 during the height of the Covid panic. 2x4's went from pennies to over $1 per board foot.

Pretty much everything is back ordered, and price gouging abounds. If we don't somehow get past the Covid excuse, and get that moron in the Whitehouse and his party out of power, we could be heading for a Jimmy Carter era economy.

As I remember it you're a DBA (assume Oracle). Many years ago I took a hard look at that track, but there was too much after hours work, and my typing skill had a hard time keeping up with the CLI. Not long after, they came out with decent point and click tools, but REAL DBA's still used the CLI. Prolly still do. DBA = Challenging Work + Exclnt Pay + Job Security + Acquired Indian Accent.

Did the upgrade I missed (eazy peazy) at 2am, and everyone's happy now. They need me bad enough its hard to do permanent damage. Not gonna be long till I get out of the game tho, tired of working for money.

    Not much Oracle.

But heavy in SQL Server, MySQL, DB2, and lately MongoDB, which is the new RAGE.

Lots and Lots and Lots of cloud stuff.

And you got that right about odd hours.......Lots of late night work, but that is why I can spend 8 weeks at the lake. I can shift work to whenever I need to work, and that has been a huge benefit.

    later,

    Shut down the virus

Try using duck duck go...or you can just see what Google wants you to see. Ever search for something on Google, and the next time you go to social media you're presented with ads for that very thing? Odd isn't it?

    https://townhall.com/tipsheet/spence...virus-n2601143

Biden said over and over during his campaign he was going to shut down the virus, not the country. Sounds a lot like he's promising to eradicate it to me.

Fauci on the other hand has stated repeatedly the virus won't be eradicated, we'll have to learn to live with it.

The future is bright for Pfizer. You take their MRNA therapy shots...er vaccine, and the federal government pays them for it with your money. What a deal.

Maybe instead of sending free money, Joe will subsidize internet access to our backyard bunkers. I want fiber pulled to mine.

Since there is no experiment inside the needle it must be the needle. We give suckers to babies when they get a shot at the doctor's office.

You are doing China's and Russia's bidding for them by bashing the US Government. I guess you would rather help China conquer the USA with the China Visus by not only getting a vaccine to protect yourself but to disk on the vaccines trying to talk others into not getting vaccinated. China wins.
