Vaccines don't keep you from getting sick, they keep you from dying. And, yes, COVID and influenza are both viruses but one is infinitely more deadly.

The goal in the health community has never been the impossible goal of eradicating it, it's been to mitigate its risks, the primary one of which being dying.
