And by the way, we the US was right at the end of the American Dustbowl, and the Great Depression, and with an antiquated and undermanned Army, Navy, and Marine Corps, so righfully, yea....we didn't sit on our hands......we built the capability and entered when we could.

And as proof of that, look how fast it ended once we did get involved. Not fast enough, but still a constant march from beach head to Hilters dining room.
