    Masks

Watched as much as I could stand of last night's SOTU address. Politicians and multitudes of hangers on were all in each other's faces, and nobody was wearing a mask. Has the science changed again while I wasn't looking?

All the sword rattling on the board is scaring me some. The only ONLY way we should be overtly and directly involved in the Russia/Ukraine war is through NATO. That is what NATO is supposed to be for. Let the Germans, French, English, Italians, etc defend their continent otherwise.

RE the masks, maybe the virus will accomplish what the Republicans don't have the votes to get done.

I agree with you, I'd think that the European continent as a whole would be climbing all over Russia. I agee also we don't need boots on the ground. I think a "coalition set of airstrikes ought do it".. And I think the nuc thing is just sabre rattling.

I still wear a mask even though I'm vaccinated and they should be wearing masks. The virus is not gone and it will come back as soon as we let our defenses down. It's done that before and it will do it again.

I don't like the new CDC woman director. She is not fit for that job.

Sadly, what the virus did accomplish was putting a fair dent in the Trump voting bloc after a lot them chose not to get vaccinated and paid the price.

I did not realize the virus had political preferences. I’m vaccinated and virus free so does that qualify me to apply for acceptance as a Democrat’s? And should I expect a notice from the GOP to cease and desist or be politically evicted?

Viruses don't have political preferences, but their effects do follow the path of least resistance. Trump voters are highly more likely to be unvaccinated, therefore more serious cases/deaths. Tons and tons of data out there on this.

i have/had 2 dim friends which were both fully vaccinated and boosted.
the virus killed one anyway and the vaccine almost killed the other with blood clots.
she has to take blood thinners indefinitely.

Are you trying to say the data is wrong because you have two friends that happened to?

Problem is the data. I don't trust the CDC or much of the 'data'. Too much vax money and control hungry politician involvement. That Ky elected another Beshear governor is beyond foolish...but that's another subject.

When hospitals are paid thousands more for each patient that dies from Covid, the data becomes highly suspect to me.

Also, the ever touted science has changed more times than my daughter on busy day of social obligations.

So you think that the hospitals and the CDC are making up the data? Come one man. This anti government stuff is getting too far out. The Government is not out to get you. And the first place you will go when you really need help after getting a severe case of Covid will be the hospital. Stop is with the anti government and anti hospital bs.

Pretty sure that the truth is corrosive to him. I tried to show him and another/quite a few how masks were useless. Ok,5% effective, and they just got butthurt. The shot is a personal decision and should always be. I have stated that of those that took shot that I know, majority wouldn’t do it again. Unfortunately at that time the number of health issues among them were far fewer than currently. Good luck if you trust a mask or a $$ shot.

Hospitals aren't paid for COVID deaths, they're paid for COVID treatments; and rightly so, because all the needed ventilators, PPE, increased staffing costs etc. doesn't come cheap. And that ONLY applies to Medicare patients or people who are uninsured, not to people who have Medicaid or private health insurance.

As to hospitals faking COVID deaths - think of everything that would have to happen. The admins at the hospital would have to lie. The coroner would have to lie. The family would get a death certificate, and wouldn't raise a fuss if it said their loved one died with COVID when they didn't.

Much like the "stop the steal" movement - let's not let healthy skepticism override common sense.

There's actually a fair chance the COVID death rate is undercounted, rather than overcounted. But just look at the numbers - there's absolutely no doubt the unvaxxed are dying at a much higher rate than the vaxxed, and that Trump voters make up the greatest percentage of the unvaxxed.
