Just finished replacing all 6 pumps in the liwewell system on my old 2000 TR21. A job I've been dreading for 10 years, wouldn't even wish it on a Biden voter. Have zero unskint knuckles, and the grass is withered from the names I've called Earl Bentz. Surprised the neighbors haven't called the sheriff.

IMO, the best bassboat hulls Bentz ever came out with are the old Stratos 201 Pro's and the early TR series. Mine will still outrun most current boats except Bullets or Allisons, but learning to drive thru the chine walk was a process. These days speed doesn't matter to me, but I still let her eat now and then. Runs like a raped ape when the hotfoot is on the bottom.

Garmin Livescope is the best 2k I've spent in a long time. Unless you ask my wife. Now I can see all those fish I can't catch.

It's 81 here in Huntsvegas, AL, and the fat girls are coming up for the spawn...

Mkay then. Installed a 50 cal on each butt seat, a missile launcher on top of the big motor, and instituted a no fly zone over my boat.

as a veteran of many bilge area jobs, i can testify that most of them **** big time.
very few boats have easy access to all pumps and valves.
i feel your knuckle pain.
i used to work at a boat dealer after i retired and bilge pump jobs are the worst job on a boat.

It's nice to talk about something other than politics once in a while here. I've been retired since 1998. That's 24 years of freedom. Lots of time for fishing and the internet and other hobbies. I can keep myself busy with all kinds of things. No pressure anymore and that is a good thing.

I got my water bill and noticed that the months of Jan and Feb had a huge increase in water usage. I suspect that there is a leak in the plumbing going to the ice maker. That happened once before, and I never knew as the water drained through a hole in the floor behind the cabinet next to the refrigerator. The ice maker line is a 1/4" OD copper line that runs from the furnace room where the hot water heater is and the cold water enters the house. From there it goes under the house into the crawl space and then up through a hole in the floor next to the refrigerator. My knuckles are already skinned up and on the mend. Which reminds me that I will have to put the tool bag back in my truck before I head out to check for leaks. New Skin works on skinned knuckles. Add some iodine first then brush on some new skin liquid and let it dry. It's like a liquid band aid that when it dries becomes a new layer of skin.

Been watching the news about Ukraine most of the time. The Russian's attacked a nuclear power plant in Ukraine. Putin is acting like a mad man.

My boat has easy access to the bilge pump so that is no problem. But I had a leak in the outlet pipe on the livewell and that was a bitch to get to and fix. I did the fill the boat up with water while it was sitting on the concrete driveway and looked for leaks. I fixed all the leaks around a few rivets that had worked loose. That was an easy fix with JB Weld. I use to have them welded shut when a rivet head popped off the outside of the boat below the water line. That was expensive. JB Weld works great if you clean the aluminum before applying the JB Weld. I use acid to clean the surface of the aluminum and that way the JB Weld holds forever. The first time I used JB Weld on a rivet hole was back in 1990. We were heading out to KY Lake for a weekend of camping and boating. Right before we were set to leave I saw the hole in the boat and was ready to cancel the trip. My neighbor who was going with us recommended using JB weld to fix it. He showed me a nickel that he glued to the concrete curb on his driveway. That nickel was on there for good. I tried to pry it off with no luck. So I allowed him to use the JB Weld on the hole. The hole was only about 3/8" in diameter. About the size of the shaft on a rivet. The rivet heads are about 1/2" in diameter. We went tubing and water skiing the entire weekend and JB Weld is still holding water out of the hole in my boat to this day.

I still have a small leak in the outlet pipe on the live well as water build up inside the boat but there is not leaks in the hull. And the water only collects in the back of the boat when I use the live well. The pvc pipe has a crack in it. It needs some more JB Weld.

I know that feeling. Given the months it occurred, check the are outside right where the line enters the home. That’s where mine split due to soil freeze and shift, foundation pinched it as soil unfroze and settled.

My hint was a sump pump that ran to often in winter months with little rain.

And given the deep freezes we got in teen temps, frozen lines that split might be it. At any rate, hope it works out for ya

For years I fished off a pontoon and only livewell pump was easy to get to hanging on back of a pontoon. Then I spent big buck on an aluminum v hull bought new and spend the next ten years periodically busting knuckles either unclogging or unfreezing or replacing the bilge or the livewell pump. Seemed like they took turns making me lie face down on the swim deck break my neck looking in and working thru a 10 inch circular access panel/hatch.

Deep down I think boat engineers sit around with beers coming up with who can design the least accessible boat component.

8.65 on my hand scale. Not 100% accurate, but pretty close. Had 3 over 8, 1 just over 9, and a lot of other good uns out of the Madison County, AL lake in '21.

My partner had a 7.32, a 5.32, and several 3's we didn't weigh Sunday. Boy blistered my hiney.
