just another dim trick to buy votes.

No different than the GOP using the old, dumb and lazy.

Also: you won't stop paying taxes.

Coming from a high school grad who didn't make it into college. You do know that you have to pass exams before they allow you into college. Which means that the smartest people get into college while the rest get rejected. So I would not call college students dumb. That would be a big mistake.

excuse me...not dumb, just financially ignorant.
i went through 5 years of college with 2 majors while working 30 hours a week so i know a little about it.
and i didn't take a dime of free money.
my $8/hr Dad and my $1.60/hr self paid for it all.
    lazy freeloaders make me sick.

You give too much credit for recent college "graduates".

These IDIOTS coming out of school today don't know ****.....and I mean, don't know ****. I have family members with "master degrees" in history, and english, and underwater basket weaving, and and and and.

AND they don't know ****.............I love to school people with degrees on stuff. All the time.

    Especially History

You don't take a test to get into college, students take an ACT test (many times as they want and can afford to) in high school, and the best score of the test is used as a basis for college acceptance.

The minimum ACT score to get into WKU for example is pretty low, and even very average students are accepted. Colleges are to a large degree about $. WKU used to take tons of middle eastern students that were accepted because their country of origin paid the full priced tuition ride. That stopped because the sponsoring country stopped doing it, not because the school was looking for the best and brightest.

While I wouldn't call college students dumb as whole, plenty of them have no business being there academically, so I don't put em on a pedestal either. Except for my daughter...she's brilliant.

They should not pay back this generations student loans because it would be "preferential" treatment for this generation when they have not offered to do so for all of us that got an education and paid our bills.

This whole thing wreaks of a sense of childish entitlement. The parents want the kids to go to college, don't push them hard enough to get the grades to get scholarships, then out of a sense of entitlement feel thier kids "deserve" college. BS! You earn it, you don't deserve it.

The parents sense of entitlement says they should not have to pay their **** kids bills. But they still want their brats to get the diploma.

    The facts:
    - You pay for what you get.
    - If you can't pay, take a loan, and then work to pay your just debts.
    - This country does owe you a high school education, but not college which is for those who either pay for it or earn it in other, and there are many, legitimate ways.
    - Don't tell me you can't get a high paying job without college. But you do need to be determined enough to actually learn a technical skill OJT, and then actually show up for work.
    - You can earn college Tuition working for Ford, or UPS, but you have to work. EARN IT.

And last, what idiot goes to college, and then asks what it costs? They had to know in advance what the cost was and if they could not afford it then they ought go to another smaller, maybe community school to get the associates degree, and then apply for a scholarship to finish off. NO DAM FREE RIDES, EARN IT!

If you go to college and don't pay the debt back to the govt, you ought be forsced into either civil service or the military with garnished checks until you do. Hey, what happens if I don't pay my tax debt? How the hell is a college debt to the govt any different?

And last. To pay my college costs, I joined ROTC, I did it right, I went to a small school to then get accepted to a larger school, finished up that, and then worked serving my country for the first 8 years paying back my debts. Incidentally, that builds a credit rating, but loan forgiveness has the same bad effect on a credit rating as a foreclosure or repossession. So do the work, earn the money, pay your way, and get a great credit score so you little entitled punks can then go buy the cars and houses mommy and daddy want you to have. I sat on the DMZ of Korea looking thru a sniper rifle sight while I had 50% of my paycheck going to pay back my college debts. No sympathy here. And I know many of you also worked your butts off to pay your just debts. So Biden and your buds, when do you plan to PAY US ALL BACK?

But get the heck out of my tax pocket. And dear politicians, if you decide to foregive theses debts, you ought be investigation colleges for price gouging, tell them to lower their **** tuitions or the Govt grants to the rich and greedy deans stops.

But other that that, I've not given it much thought.

I refer to them as educated idiots. And to be fair, I have seen some incredible young people with amazing talents. I strongly agree their is a difference between the theory one learns in scholl and the practice that occurs in todadys society and business.
