    Not Trump

    Gotcha Moveon.

Acquired a Humminbird Solix 15 G3 recently, and that thing is the cat's meow. Coupled with my Garmin Livescope, it makes me a fish finding machine. Notice I didn't say fish catching machine. Pretty cool when you actually watch one eat your bait tho.

Yea these electrics help us located the fish better than ever. Remember to wash the gasoline off your hands before you bait up.

Will see what I can do. Use the Solix for navigation and structure/cover location more than anything. That thing shows you what's down there in high detail. When it comes to actually locating fish, I depend on the Garmin Live Scope more. Generally I'll find something interesting on the Solix, and see if has fish on the Garmin

Difficult to use either one reliably on Guntersville, I'm usually in waist deep water in the grass beds.

Yea they are not as valuable in real shallow water.

But they help you find the nearest change in depth in case the fish back out of the shallows for a while. Sometimes they go back out to the first substantial change in depth and other times they go back out to the second drop off or follow a ditch to the creek and then to the river.

What I would do is if I were still fishing all the time and had a new Hummingbird Side Scanning device is use the mapping software and get my own data so that I could fill in the data and make the maps more accurate. I've never fished in Guntersville but heard about it. If it's a reservoir lake and has a lot of depth changes in the water level at various times of the year it will form different shelves depending on the water levels. That way you get various drop-offs.
