    Batten the hatches!

Batten the hatches boys , she's angry and cold and on her way.
Filled the cans with kerosene and ran the heaters fo a bit to make sure they are ready.
Filled the gas can for the generator amd gave it a warm up run.
Gas logs are working (fingers crossed on that one, they let us down a couple years ago) everything is new now so....
    Filled all the vehicles up.
This has been a very expensive preparation but nothing compared to not being prepared.
Good luck hope everyone stays safe and warm through this monster storm.

I just don't go out. I'm fine as long as the heat or power does not go out. I'm screwed if that happens. I would have to get all dressed up in my winter clothing and drive across town to my house and hope the power is on there.

My doctor ordere a new medicine and I'm waiting for it to be delivered. But I doubt it will get delivered until the roads get better. They are frozen over and still have ice and compacted snow covering the pavement.

I took the easy way out to prepare. Called a motel and made a reservation with option to cancel short notice, and then filled up the F150 with gas, and stocked the back seat with sleeping bags and snack food. Why the truck preps? If the house losses power, the motel might also, and I want to be prepared to drive to Florida

    Seasonal savings.

    Go to Lowes
    Buy 20 large shipping boxes
    Buy 2 rools duct tape.
Set the boxes up all corners well taped, but lids open
    Temp drops to zero.
Let boxes fill with cold air.
    Tape baoxes air tight shut.
Move all boxes to your basement and store for thsi August when temps hit 95 degrees.
When temp hit 95 degrees, bring one box at at itme up and open it to reduce the AC electric bill.
    Genius!!!!
