    Chatter Bait

The big buzz up here in Indiana is the Chatter Bait. However, there are some that are a little suspicious about some claims being made.

Are you guys using this bait? Having as much success as people are claiming to have up this way?

    Thanks,
    W. Amos

I bought a couple of copies (can't remember the name) from C&O Marine a few weeks ago. i really like the action. the fishing was a little slow on KY lake the next day. I did catch one nice spot popping the bait on a point, but I did't really fish it that hard.

If any of you live in NE tennesse their is a bait shop in Middlesboro Ky. called Deer Ridge they have a large supply of the original Rad Lures chatterbaits in all sizes and colors, may want to look them up if you are up that way. Not a huge markup neither somthing like 8 or 9 bucks.

I've been using something close for years around boat docks that
does pretty well. I make this myself at home by putting a spoon
to a jig by a split ring swimming it around mostly docks. Like any other lure, it has its days.

I can't imagine anyone buying them off Ebay for $20 and up when going direct to Radlures will make a weight and color of your exact choice for about $7 each. The jury is as yet still out on my verdict, have to use them all spring/summer/fall season to make a fair assessment. I'll post as each season ends..........Shoalrunner

    RE: Chatter Bait

I've looked at Cabela's knuklehead and Radlures chatterbait and they don't look anything alike!! The knuklehead looks like a jointed Pop-R and the chatterbait looks like a jig and trailer with a flat piece of metal for the head!!! Am I missing something? I want to be the first one on "my block" with the hotest lure! HELP!!!!!

    Here's your help!!!!

Go to the Community Tackle Box discussion board on this site. There is a locked thread on chatterbaits. It had to be locked due the digression of the thread into name calling. But if you read the thread you will see that MarkW has many of the chatterbaits for sale on ebay. If you email him, you can probably get the information you need to buy some from him and have them shipped.

In order to email Mark, just take your mouse and point at the icons next to his name, and you will see a pop up box say Private message, email, etc..... so just click on the email icon and you will launch your default email program and can email Mark.

    Or, just check out ebay.

    Good luck,

    Danny

    RE: Chatter Bait

Latest word is that Rad Lures, makers of the original Chatterbait, has been bought out, most likely by Renosky Lures. Other word is that WalMart has signed to buy 500K of them and will be marketing them. When this will finalize is still unknown.

    RAD Lures/Chatterbait not sold ....

Bassfan had an article in the dock talk section with a message from the owner of Rad lures saying they have not sold out to Renosky lures, but that they are partnering with them for some improvments and production issues.

    Just an FYI
