Norris Lake Question

Is there any good SM/LM bass fishing around Flat Hollow Marina? This will be my first trip to Norris, so I'm not familiar with the lake at all. Any help would be great.

    RE: Norris Lake Question

ist go up in hollow inside marina on lt side before you get to end they're 2 little necks fish those with rootbeer bandits 100-200 series.then as your leaving the dock go rt and your first neck to your rt i use suspending long a's for spots.then instead of going rt into that neck bear lt follow lake till you see an island then bear rt stay straight ahead and fish those docks with tubes, and grape w/white tail worms.on norris in that area fish those big flat rocky banks with any type baits notoriuous for spots and hold on.that's just the tip of the iceberg i do real good i fish out of the davis creek area which is just a 5 min run from there.also will catch small and largemouths.smallmouths are on the comeback in norris

    RE: Norris Lake Question

Night bite has been good from what I hear. I went Friday night and caught two and had a good one tear off on a jig. Fished Saturday night until 3 am and caught eight. One small Spotted Bass, a non keeper Largemouth, and three Smallmouth that were just shy of being keepers. And two keeper Smallmouth that were 19 and 20 inches each. The fish were on steeper rock banks in about 10 feet of water. Most of the fish were on a spinnerbait fished by either yo-yoing or stop and go. I also lost three more that I know would keep, on on a jig, two on a spinnerbait. Also had several hits on the blade. The bite was very light though, even on the spinnerbait. I never felt a thing, it just got heavy. Good luck.

LAST EDITED ON Jul-04-06 AT 01:13AM (EST)[p]Fished last night from 10:00 til 1. Fished the Island F area main channel. Caught 4 SM with 1 over 18 and 3 in the 14 to 16 range. Also caught 5 Spotts in the 10 to 14 inch size. The fish were on gravel rock mixed banks in 15 to 20 feet of water. There was a little color in places from the extreme daytime boat traffic. 6 hit a slow rolled Chartterbait black with a red zoom chunk. Let the bait fall to the bottom then snap it up and begin a slow steady retreive. The others hit a Watermelon colored jig with a camo colored craw. The fish on the chatterbait all killed it. The jig fish just picked it up and started swimming off. Fish2win

Anyone fish Near Lone Mountain Boat dock? My grandpa has a houseboat there, i was there a couple weeks ago. I caught several keeper largemouths near point 32. Biggest was 5lbs 6 oz. Caught on a zoom cherryseed u-tail. ANY input would be appreciated.

    RE: Norris Lake Question

This time of the year there is often a good SM bite in that area. There is usually not a thermocline that far up stream so the fish can be at any depth. When the TVA pulls water it often puts the SM in a shallow pattern around limestone. That pattern usually gets real good in early Augustr in that area. Fish2win
