PLANNING ON GOING TO STATE PARK RAMP AROUND FIRST WEEK OF AUGUST, MAINLY NITE FISHING, BUT WOULD LIKE TO DO SOME DAYTIME IF I COULD FIND SOME LIVE SHINERS. IS THERE ANY LOCAL TACKLE SHOPS IN THE AREA W/ SHINERS?

I don't know where you are coming from but I never found any good shiners around Dale. The best place within a decent drive is Lake Cumberland Country Store on US 127 a few miles north of the dam on the right just past the state park at Lake Cumberland. I have used shiners in the winter at Dale and it was always worth the drive for these shiners. Fished all last week with some luck but overall it was slow, 1/4 oz green and orange hair jig with trailer and rattle fished around 25 foot deep on points with grass and rock preferably was best bet. With thermacline changing they may be a little deeper by then.

Shiners can be bought in Celina at the One Stop or right across the river in town is the place that sells them fro all around including OneStop :)
