I'm new to Tennessee and recently moved near Cherokee Lake. Can anyone give me any tips on the best techniques, lures, baits, hot spots, etc? Any guidance is much appreciated!

For largemouth go back in the creeks throw top water early and late also try jerkbaits, rattle traps during the day texas rig,spinnerbaits and crankbaits.Small mouth will probably stil be relatively deep 10-20ft finesse baits green pumpkin is a good color haven't fish in a couple of weeks but the cooler temps should really turn them on soon..

I have fished Cherokee since 1959. Fish mostly for Stripers . This weekend the No Fish Zone opens at the Dam ,after Sept. 15 . You can Troll big lures . Jig Hopkin Spoons , Bucktail Flies , Hope this helps . Since your new to the Lake suggest you talk to some the local Tackle stores , , Such as Tom's in Morristown, Bucks and Bass , Dandridge also the internet .. TWRA East Tenn.fishing.. Don Seals gives some excellant reports on Bass, Stripers , Crappie. Hope this help, If You have a Radio I operate on Ch 68. go by Yank . Have not fished much lately because of back problem and that is getting better should be on the lake late next week... YANK
