We were fishing on the bottom with shiners. Pull up on the bank and tie off and we put out six rods and wait. Leave the bail open and they will take off with it and then you lock down and set the hook and then the fight is on. I would rather catch them on artificial but I will live bait fish to get them. Make sure you have a net. It makes it a lot easier to get them in. Hope this helps. Learned this technique by going out with Greg Cary from Ky Trophy Fishing. He does a great job.
