    RE: Federation News

    If you think this is so bad you could always fish with Texax, New Mexico, Colorado or Ontario Canada. They voted to stay with BASS. You obviously have not been keeping yourself informed on the situation between ESPN/BASS and the Federation. Bass plunged the knife in once too often and they got a face full. Ray Scott started a good thing but in the latter days all he was interested in was going with the money. He had to be thrown out of the Federation Presidents Executive session. He is a turncoat and should just fade into the sunset. If you all will read the FLW and Bassfan proposals you will see that there is a world of improvement there. And you'll be able to fish the big tournaments out of the boat of your choosing. You will not be limited to a Triton. Anyway, lets look to a bright future......

    Don;
    Thats way to much travel for me, Don't get me wrong, I am not a big fan of BASS/ESPN, they are in this for the money just as FLW. If it was not for the money, FLW would not put out any type of offer. FLW has offer up a lot of incentives, The Federations stand to get a lot of funding if we use FLW sponsored Cedit Cards. Discounts on FLW and TBF clothing, and others discounts on line stores.
    The one thing that I did not see was the Liability and A/D 24 - 7 insurance that was offered by BASS/ESPN. Will this mean that my club needs to purchase this Insurance? Just another cost to the small clubs, shoots take $5.00 saving out the window.
    Again this is just my view, I'm not trying to debate this. I have printed the proposals and have been conparing the 2.

    I do agree with you on the way that BASS/ESPN have acted during this mess. I too would have walked out of the meeting.
    Have a great day, hope to meet you on the water some day and share great fishing stories

    For any of you that are interested I did some research on liability insurance for a small club like the one I'm in. (approx 30 members). We can get $1,000,000 in liability insurance for $342. per year. Didn't check on the AD/D. but as I recall it is not expensive.

    I think it was time for a change, we made it. We should now wait and see how it shakes out.

    One thing that does erk me though is the Indiana Federation web site. If you have checked the In web site you will find that the last post concerning this whole mess was back in Dec. The timely information came from Bassfan, Tennessee web site, and the Ky website who by the way did an excellent job of keeping its members informed. If I had my druthers our club would become a part of the Ky Fed. The Indiana web site us just above worthless..... Sorry, but this has really stuck in my craw.....

    Note Cari Sweetheimer is the contact at K&K Insurance in FortWayne that handles the details of the BASS policy. She is getting me a quote for the club that would match the BASS policy.

    I understand that if you have 16 or more boats in a tourney you are req'd by the IDNR to have a $1,000,000 liability policy

    I agree, the Indiana Web Site is poor at best, I hope we don't pay a lot for that, You can get information faster by using Carrier Pigon. Thanks for the information on the Liability Insurance.
