LAST EDITED ON Mar-05-06 AT 10:38PM (EST)[p]Patoka has the Hoosier Open next week, so I would imagine the guys out fishing won't give up any information. I would think most of the guys on Patoka were practice fishing and trying to find a pattern.
I would use 6" power worms, slow presentations. I saw a bass in 3ft of water yesterday, northwest corner of a decent sized strip pit, so I believe you could catch some fish right now.
We are supposed to get a nice warming trend this week with a relatively warm (55F) rain, so possibly look for incoming current into Patoka being warmer than the main lake area. I wouldn't be afraid to even fish dirty water if it was significantly warmer than the main arm.
The main river and Youngs Creek on the far north east area of the lake, is just north of the main river arm when it comes into the lake. If we get a good rain, this area could have some warmer water. It is probably too low to get into the Youngs Creek arm, but the main river channel should be accessible.
This time of year, is very tough fishing. If you can get more than 1 day in a row on the same lake, you should be able to find something. Just going for an afternoon trip is going to be tough to figure them out, because they probably aren't moving.
