    Liscense

    Good morning all.
    I recently bought my liscense on line and noticed that they are not good until April 1st. I already threw my ones from last year away. Does this mean I can't fish until April. I did not know that the old ones were good until April. I thought they ran out at the end of February.

    That is weird, I just look at mine and it said valid period is 01/01/2005 - 02/28/2006.

    RE: Liscense

    If I can't fish until April I'm going to be pretty upset. I am sure my old ones said they expired February 28th but the new ones say not valid until April 1st. I guess I should call the DNR and find out. Planning on going this weekend.

    Because it is different this year the DNR will honor both the '05 and the '06 license. I forget where I read that, but it was probably on a DNR site. Plus, think of how many guys will be out this weekend when the weather is 70 degrees and virtually all of them will have '06 licenses.

    My neighbor talked to someone at the lake near my house where he bought his boat sticker and liscense and she told him they were not valid until April. Did not sound quite right to me but I wanted to be sure before I gave the DNR a call.

    I called the IDNR Law Enforcement office at Leiber, and they told me as long as you have a 2006 fishing license you are legal.

    All 2006 annual licenses and stamp privileges are valid from April 1, 2006 through March 31, 2007.

    They are telling all their officers to honor the 2006 license all year, and to honor the 2005 license until April 1st.

    So if you still have your 2005, you don't need to buy one yet to fish this upcoming fabulous lunker buster weekend.

    If you don't believe me, you can call them at the following;

    Thanks for the information. I figured that they would but was told that they would not honor them until April.

    RE: Liscense

    DNR has screwed up on the fishing license online. I tried to purchased license and got one good for 01-01-05 thru 03-31-06. When I called them, they said there was a lot of confusion on the fishing license and they had pulled that option off their web site so nobody else would make that mistake. When I told them I had the 05 license and wanted the 06 license would they help correct the mistake and they told me they would not refund or give you the correct license, even though they had already taken your money. My advice beware buying your license on line from DNR. Next time I'll go to Walmart.

    RE: Liscense

    I'd be pretty PO'd if they told I could not get the correct liscense. I was pretty PO'd when I thought mine were not good until April.
