Does anyone fish the state fishing areas like Hillenbrand, Minnehaha,Atterbury,Sugar Ridge,Green-Sullivan, places like that, I've not seen anything said about any fishing there. Is there a reason?

I live at Patoka but my favorite fishing place is Sugar Ridge.
How's the fishin'? Bluegill, crappie, bass, catfish in these areas? Are they worth spending the time to try?
Most have excellent gill, redear, crappie and bass.
LAST EDITED ON Mar-11-06 AT 04:05AM (EST)[p]I will give you a public pond that has absolutely lunker bluegill and crappie in it. It is called JI Case Wetlands of Hawthorne Park. Lake was built as a goose nesting lake, very very shallow on the east side.
You will need a small jon boat to fish it, with a trolling motor pre-ferred.
On US-40 going east out of Terre Haute, go to the first stop light east of Rose-Hulman Institute. Turn North, go to the next stop sign. Lake is on your left, as is a huge electrical substation, turn left and go west to the boat ramp right off the road.
The lunker bluegills are in the flooded timber, on the west side of the lake. Use a no.4 bluegill hook with a small split shot, and no bobber.
You will get hung up a lot, but these are the biggest bluegill on average I have ever seen. Big Crappie in there too.
I don't fish it anymore, but I know they are in there.
Here is an aerial photo of the pond, wood is on west side.
