Thanks for the advise. I heard about some break ins at Patoka Lake Ramp parking lots last fall. I'll make sure to keep any valuables out of my truck if I park at those remote launch areas.

Don't you ever get tired of complaining about fees? Do the math add it up, its not that much money to have access for the whole year. If you take your woman to the show, thats $16 just for the tickets, add in dinner before thats $50 to $60 on average. Go out for drinks afterwards, another $20 or 30 bucks. Fishing is relatively cheap, so get over it, quit whining and go fishing.
This country was founded by complaining (then killing) about taxes. It is our duty as Patriotic Americans to fight every tax, every time. Anyone who doesn't, should be taken out and shot.
Moose, you were really low on the boat registration, mine says its closer to 100 bucks. I am not going to pay it, I am starting a revolution. I am going to have to fish state waters only at night. Saves on sun screen and ice too.
Topwater, I don't get you sometimes, and I don't mean it in a negative way. One day you have very valuable information, and the next some off the wall comment.
You do make a valid point about fighting taxes, however, these fees are not taxes, they are not required for every citizen to pay. If you want to fish you pay, if you don't want to fish you don't pay.
About the increases from each year, well it has to keep up with inflation, and I don't know about you but each year I seem to make more money. So in a way it all balances out.
WMAMOS, about having a girlfriend, as hard as it may be for you to believe I do have a girlfriend. I do alright in the women category since you seem to be interested.
And to top it all off I am just baffled about how someone commented about adding in the cost of line and bait, wow.
If a fishing license was $200, I would pay it, its worth the money, good ROI if you ask me. Like I said, quit whining and crying, and just go fishing, the more you fish the cost per trip with your calculated expenses will go down.
Thats right, I don't want anyone to be able to figure me out. I am unstable with an AR-15 in my hand, shouldn't be messed with.
I am starting a revolution on taxation. I am not paying what I can get away with. I don't plan on putting my boat on Indiana water so I am not paying.
Now you stop your whining and get over it.
Sounds like a good anti-gun campaign slogan right there.
I would like to see you try your "fight" against taxes. Let me know how that one turns out for you.
Another smart post.

Crappie I have a hard time believing that you have a woman.
:D :D :D :D
You can launch @ Painters Creek,Walls and Osborne and avoid the $36.00 park pass.
Ray Rigby
What park pass are you talking about?

To enter the Newton Stewart Area of Patoka Lake you have to buy a permit. If you camp at the main camp ground you have to pay to camp also. Then you have to buy a launch permit and stick it on your boat. If the CO sees you on the lake without that permit on your boat (port side) you can get fined.
I have never lauched at the Main North Ramp (Newton Stewart), South Ramp, Lick Fork South and the one by the Marina, Walls and the ramp in the Little River Area. Not familar with the other ramps but thanks for that advise. I'll give them a try next time.

When I called DNR they told me the only permit I needed was for my boat. Any other fees could be paid at the gate houses on the ramps or at the parks.
I usually put in at Lick and there is no gate there.
