    RE: Monroe Questions

If it is, there is a high water ramp around behind Cutright. It is a small 2 lane ramp but it was usuable when the water was 10' up.

    RE: Monroe Questions

Two weeks ago I was still able to launch out of Panyetown... the ramp was fine and the water has come down since then.

    RE: Monroe Questions

Cutright ramp is closed. Cutright High water ramp is open.

Paynetown ramp is open. Dam ramp is open.

Launch tags available at the Paynetown SRA office.

Crappie are hitting, nothing else being caught in numbers according to my secret sources.

Note the Middle Fork is closed to fishing until April 2nd, and the North Fork is closed until April 16th.

    RE: Monroe Questions

I drove by Cutright and Pine Ridge/Grove (?) this morning. There's about an inch of water on the little stretch of road leading to the Cutright Ramp, but the ramp itself is unusable atm. The high-water ramp at Cutright seemed busy enough (mostly people taking their boats out of the water because of the rain). There was a boat putting in at Pine Grove or Ridge or whatever it's called. That ramp seems fine, too. So, you can get your boat in the water. :)

    RE: Monroe Questions

    BKehl,

I just got back from fishing today, and I did real well on spinnerbaits thrown in shallow water near wood laydowns. I worked the northwest side of coves, and almost every fish came out of a shaded area.

The sun was out very bright, but the wind was straight out of the south, blowing the water up against the northwest bank. Ended up catching 11 bass on the spinnerbait, and 2 on a Lucky Craft Pointer suspending model.

Good luck, those big lakes are really tough to figure out this time of year. You might try Ramp Creek bay and don't be shy about going all the way to the end of the bays and throwing in shallow water. The pattern today was shallow, wood, in the shade, lots of wind. Don't give up on a cast because they are following sometimes before deciding. Very light strikes too, nothing smashmouth.
