I can't get it to work for me today. It won't accept my Soc number for some reason. Probably someone made a typo when they entered the data in the data bank.
Never had any problems getting the boat registered when I went to the License branch in person.
But with the cut backs at the BMV and the shut down of several of the branchs the lines are getting much longer. It would be much easier if the online registration thing works for boats like it does for my truck.
How long would you wait for a response to an email that you sent to the BMV? A day or a week. You would think that if you send them an email that they could read it and give your a response in a couple of business days. I emailed them using a link on the BMW web site and have not received a response in two days now.

We tried to use the online in February and it was doing that same thing then. They said they were working on the problem.... Yea , right.... I had to go to the liscence branch for the first time in many many years, It was a GIANT pain in the arse..... I can't believe they don't have it fixed yet, I called once a week until I had to go , very poor performance by our Indiana BMV..................
If you're gonna mail it in, you better send it in real early. Mine reg. expired on 3/15 so I send it in the first week of Feb. I didn't get a tag for it until 3/20. I called and find out what's the progress and they have no idea so I thought it was lost and started blaming the mail man for loosing my mail. Sorry mail man!
Thanks for the feedback guys. I sort of figured the State had the online registration screwed up. Thanks Mitch! Now the Newburgh License branch is closed down and there are twice as many people waiting in line at the Boonville Branch.
I'll just have to go wait in line to get my boat registered now.
