    RE: Worms in fish

Snails are very sensitive to the heavy metal COPPER. My stepdaughter put a penny in her aquarium years ago and it all the snails died in a few days. I later talked to the pet store people that sold us the fish and they told me to never put any copper in the aquarium if I had snails in the water.

You friend may be able to treat that farm pond with some coppersulfate. I use to do this at a lake I worked at every spring. We put the copper sulfate in a burlap bag and dragged it behind the boat all over the lake. The lake would turn green for a few days and any one that swam in the lake got out with Green hair. But it washed out with a good shower.

That may kill any snails that are in the pond. If these worms have part of their life cycle involved with those snails it may help irradicate the worms too. Worms can't survive or reproduce properly if their host (snails) are't around in the pond anymore.

I would encourage you to get a scientist (Biologist or Ecologist) that can identify the genus and specie of those worms. Once you know more about what they are you may be able to get better advice on how to get rid of them.

Oh BTW. The copper sulfate will kill the aquatic plants in the lake also and keep the algae from growing too.

Just a note to clear up a fine point.

Copper Sulfate is a commonly used algaecide, but in recommended doses it generally does not kill other aquatic plants. CS tends to be of pretty short term effectivness on algae, especially in hard water. The copper will bind with disolved minerals in the water and precipitate out to become tied up the the bottom muck. I'm not sure what effect it might have there on snails.

I'm not going to get into the Golden Corral thing.

Dang, I thought you was going to tell chigger to swallow a penny. Now he's got me to thinking maybe I got one of them worms too cause I just cannot go past one of those Golden Corrals.

    Shrimp Nite Moved

Did you know shrimp nite moved to Monday? It did, from Friday.

Friday is now fish fry night, but has shrimp too. Not the big kind like they have on shrimp nite though.

They have the best chicken fingers in the world. Huge chunks of deep fried chicken breast, there is always a line for them when they come out fresh and sometimes I get into fist fights with elderly people for the fresh chicken strips. Knocked a guy in a walker clean off his feet. He went over and settled for pot roast.

Well don't try that again, I know what you look like now. That pot roast was terrible and one of the legs on my walker is bent.

Sorry about that. I thought maybe they weren't bringin any more out for a while. Don't tell anybody what I look like though, so I can sneak up on em on these high dollar tournaments.

A lot of people say I look like Glenn Campbell. Not the Rhinestone Cowboy bling bling Glenn Campbell, but the nice innocent Wichita Linesman Glenn Campbell before Tanya Tucker.

Next time I see you in the line, I will give you a free Lucky Craft Moonsault CB 350 in blue chartruese color. The bait I won Patoka on two weeks ago.

OK it's a deal but only if you will sign my walker and autograph that high priced bait for me. Ain't just everyone that has signed items from a world famous Patokie lake fishin champion.
