Well the water is only 4ft above summer pool right now so things are almost normal. With this cold front we're having now this weekend would be a tough one. As far as what to do when the water was up? Every fish I know that was caught was in the brushes. If there are still flooded brushes, fish it with plastic or spinnerbait real tight to it. Man, I am glad I don't have to come back to Mon-nothing-roe this year.
Monroe would be tough this weekend, but with the weather, all lakes are going to be tough. I fished the Zone 2 Top8 tournament a couple of weeks ago. I caught 2 fish, 1 each day. Not bad, but could've and should've done better. This was the first time I weighed in a fish at a Monroe tourney in 3 years. I get another crack at her on June 4th.
Mt friend qualified for State there 2 weeks ago during the top 8. Had decent catches both days. His fish came from the fast side in creeks. Caught his a small plastics on spinning gear.
Fished there sunday. Caught eight keepers in about 4 hours. All deep. It was a blast! No real big bass, but two were just over three pounds.
Meathead your the man
