Lake Monroe shoreline fishing this weekend

Can anyone give me any advice on fishing Lake Monroe from the shoreline? Any areas or tips would be greatly appreciated. My family is going down this weekend and am taking my boy fishing for the first time. We are staying at Paynetown Rec Area.

I suggest trying the shoreline at Paynetown. Much of it faces deep water, and if you can avoid being washed away by the wakes of pleasure boats, you may have a good fishing experience there. It appears to be reasonably flat and not too much forest at the lakeside.
