Is Indiana beautiful ?

Do you think Indiana is beautiful with all the trash that litter our shorelines ?
Complain about all the trash and garbage: http://www.in.gov/dnr/contact/
Contact the Executive office, State parks and reservoirs division, and general. Don't hesitate to complain several times !!!! and several more times after that !!!!
Who can say that Indiana is beautiful ?? Not me ! I've seen all that stinking garbage and trash thats left by some anglers. I don't know if they are just lazy, or why they don't clean up after themselves.
The fact is that Indiana has some beautiful shorelines surrounding our lakes, rivers, and reservoirs. Its a down-right shame that you can't see the beauty because of all the trash ! Its disgusting !!!
I personally think that the people who leave this trash and garbage behind should be fined if caught, and repeat offenders should face jail time.
This subject comes up on the website every year, and its long over-due that anglers across the state let their voices be heard !!! Last year or this spring there was a bill that was introducted into the senate to be voted on, but needless to say it never made it to the vote. Our senators just didn't have the time.
I'd like to encourage everyone to e-mail DNR and your congressman, and complain about the trash and garbage. This has been going on and on for many years, and its time for our state to step in and do something about it !!
Our state must look like a garbage dump to visitors who visit here !!!!

It is a matter of attitude. Ken Kesey once pointed out that if two guys are walking in the park on a spring day, one will comment on the beauty of the day and the rich color of the sky and the greenness of the grass, while the other will complain about the dog turds and the trash under the bushes and the cigarette butts laying about. It is all attitude.

Change your mind and you'll change your life, I am told.

At Monroe on Saturday evening about 9:30 p.m. while the sounds of John Mellencamp wafter across the waters, the DNR was out chasing down boaters who were driving too fast after dark, and I believe a few hefty tickets like that and there will be less trash on the water, so to speak.

Slowretrieve,

Wasn't that cool having Melloncamp play for the unexpected crowd. Our club had a tournament Sunday and we stayed at Paynetown Saturday night and listened to live Melloncamp while bustin' balls around the campfire. Quite entertaining.

OldMac,

Right on my man. Awareness is a good first step. By the way, where is your complaint based from (what waters). Because I've been to Monroe and Patoka this year and neither lake had any visible trash. Actually, both were in great shape. Perhaps this is an isolated or select location problem. Sometimes it's property owners themselves that leave their property looking like $hit. Just curious where you've experienced this disregard for our natural resources. I'm behind your efforts my good man.

LAST EDITED ON Jun-06-06 AT 07:14AM (EST)[p]It was terrific! I never thought there was much that could add to the fishing experience, but Mellencamp provided a definite plus to the pleasure of the day. At the time I thought it would be great to be camping at Paynetown. I anchored below his house and enjoyed the music, but it would have been great around the campfire as well. It amazed me how little his live performance varied from the studio recordings, and to hear it all echoing across a beautiful lake like Monroe was a real treat.

He did play some Rolling Stones and Bob Dillan. No Ted Nugent that I recall. I had the tunes rolling though my head as I set the hook on my first fish on Sunday morning. Chigger, I went off VanDam style. You would have been proud! ;-)

Did you set the trollin motor on continous speed 5 and throw 1 oz. rattletraps with reckless abandonmon for hours on end?

Nolan Ryan with a baitcaster in his hands.

KVD listens to Metallica mostly.

CBS will unveil a new crime show this fall based on when you find a largemouth bass with its lips ripped off by a rattletrap. Its called CSI-KVD . They never catch him.

TI - Its Van Dam again

Well on Kentucky Lake today, temps were in the 90's and a blue sky. Tough fishing conditions, but if you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen.

Kevin OpenUpaCanofWhoopAssVanDam went power fishin'. Throwing a big deep divin crankbait and haulin em out of the abyss. When he didn't get a bite, it was run and gun to a new spot.

I bet 20 dead presidents before the Bluegrass Battle is over, KVD is down below the dam, in the river catching smallmouth off of sandbars to win the thing.

Its all about power, and intimidation.
