Yesterday I fished Giest.
Like most lake property, mom's and dads have to work two jobs just to make the payments. That means Teenage kids are left home to fend for themselfs.
It's hard to flip the docks when so many youngsters are sun tanning, Not to complain but,, its impossiable to fish some of the coves because of the girls doing cannonballs off dad's party pontoon.
I can remember smelling the mixture of gasoline and oil smoke from the old Johnson outboard as a kid. Yesterday all I could smell was coppertone and Banana suntan spray, lofting in the morining air.
The water temp. was 73* thats perfect for bass fishing, but too cold to be wearing some of the outfits that I saw. I just wanted to let ya all you know, the fishing wasn't too bad but with all the distractions, Geist is almost too tuff to fish.
"That,,, that doesn't kills us, makes us stronger" I'll continue fishing that area, because of the challenges that the lake offers. Even though its a two hour drive to get there.

Were any of the girls post teen and hot? If so, I wouldn't be complaining. Prowler never complains when hot chicks are making too much noise in the water. Just doesn't happen often enough.
Just exactly what cove were you in?? I fish there often and would like to see what all the hub hub is about....Thank you for your prompt and exact locations..
OK keep this under your hat,,,
Devil's elbow area. Lots of grass,,, (fishing kind) found several Bass,,,, and watched one party pontoon with "collage age" babes doing cannon balls from a make shift step ladder platform. I'm guessing they were engineering students from Purdue.
Now the rest of the story,,, Ya all have seen the "floating, round trampolines" on the lakes. On my way out of the elbow, towards the dam area. I happened upon several other collage age ladies bouncing wildly up and down on the,,,,, "tramp-O-lean" That was the name painted on the side. I'm gussing they were I.U. students.
The vibrations from the girls jumping up and down were enough to send crawdads out of their hiding spots into the lake. I got two more good size bass on a red crankbait. (the bass threw up crawdads in my live well) I bet Hank Parker never put a pattern togather like that, "Crawdads and trampolines"
I'm wondering with all the unsupervised youth on that lake if a bass club would host "take a student fishing" or a student casting contest. It might be the ticket to bring some structure into their summer vacation. Don't forget to wear your sun glasses if you do host a outing. Fishermen need to set the "safety example" for these youngsters.
that there is funny sh@$!
Ok, I fish Geist all the time and should really check this out to make sure there's no funny business going on. Where is Devil's Elbow? Is that the cove that splits in two on the East side of the lake, close to the dam?
I am at Geist quite a bit with the gals from Hooters from 38th Steet. I am tan line coordinator for the entire restaurant.
The area you are talking about is where the Y in the lake happens and you end up in a deep hole area. It gets slippery in there with a lot of hazzards to get around. It only takes about 5 minutes to get through there normally, but can take up to 30 minutes when under high traffic conditions.
I normally only go through once, but if I haven't been through there for a while I will go through 2 or 3 times.
