IT SEEMS LIKE THE FISH ARE GETTING BIGGER THIS YEAR. MOST TOURNEYS I SEEN POSTED LAST YEAR WERE WON WITH 13# OR LESS WITH AN OCCASSIONAL 15#. THIS YEAR I'VE SEEN A FEW 18# AND HEARD OF A 20#.
I haven't seen a tournament there since early April that took less than 12 lbs. to win. Usually one or two boats gets a couple of kicker fish to bite to get over the 15 lb. mark. Out of 54 boats last Tuesday, 15 boats had their 5 fish limit. I would say that lake is healthy. Too bad it costs $11 M-F and $27 Sat & Sun to put the boat in the water.
Is any of the ramp fee going back into the lake for stocking purposes? If not that is a joke.
Ramp fees have nothing to do with the fishery. Unfortunately the ramp is purely a private, MONEY MAKING venture.
Perhaps someone should contact Veolia, the FRENCH owned drinking water company that manages the lake, and ask what they are doing about the quality of the fishery. The answer is NOTHING. They manage the dam and the weeds and thats it.
