LAST EDITED ON Oct-20-05 AT 08:35AM (EST)[p]Looks like that old thread got a little too nasty for the maintenance crew. Normally I would not want to open any wounds, but since I started the thread I guess I will need to end it. A Mr. Tom Carr, a Wildlife Specialist for the IN DNR, was kind enough to bring me up to speed on the kill. JSY (I think that's who it was) was right. According to Mr. Carr, "Every year there is a time period where some of the stripers don't have enough oxygen in the water to survive." He goes on to say that we have not had enough rain to raise the lake above summer pool, and this tends to cause the water to statify and some areas of the lake simply have no oxygen. "Stripers," he says, "are very oxygen sensitive" and they die off if they can't find enough oxygen.
Anyway, that's all the news that is news, and I thank Mr. Carr for his time.
