I have a friend who went last week and caught some nice smallmouth and white bass on white roostertails casting into the rocky banks mid lake area.

went there second week of oct. caught two smallies, three largemouth,and five bluegills. bluegills on top water bass on crankbaits

Went to Brookville the first week of October. It was clear as glass and you could see the zebras under several feet of water. Didn't catch a thing.
