Received my Crappie Fishing Lakes and Reservoirs today in the mailbox. Only took them about a week or less to get the DVD to me.
I learned a few new things from the DVD but most of it was covered in the In-Fisherman's Crappie Wisdom Book. I guess I was expecting more on Reservoirs and they covered Northern Natural Lakes more than Southern Reservoirs like KY lake or some of the other famous Southern Reservoirs.
But they were catching some nice black crappie in the 1 to 2 lb range on the DVD. Even covered some ice fishing on a frozen lake. They covered prespawn, spawn, Post Spawn, Summer suspended crappie and Fall deep water crappie.
The DVD discussed the forage of the smaller crappie at the beginning and then talked about the crappie roaming the "confined Open Water Area" during the hot summer months.
They did not cover the spider rigging which surprised me. At least I can't recall them covering that method.
In-Fisherman is good for Northern lakes and Canada. I wish that there was a Southern In-Fisherman type that would cover the Midwest and southern lakes and reservoirs.
And they didn't cover moving water environments at all. I was hoping to learn more about fishing for crappie in creeks and rivers.
