I am trying out a new set of insulated winter camo clothing. These are sold by ####'s Sporting Goods Store. They are labeled Field and Stream.
They have thinsulate insulation in the Bibs and also a zipped in thinsulate lining in the parka. The Parka can be worm with or without the zipped in insulated inner lining. And the inner lining is reversible and can be work by itself.
I have noticed that a lot of moisture gets trapped in the inner lining of both the liner and the parka itself. It's probably just not cold enough to wear this insulated clothing yet, and I am getting too warm and sweating too much.
I have heard of Gore-tex micro pores and how it's suppose to breath. But I have owned a Gore-tex rain suit from Cabala's in the past and it also gets wet on the inside.
I think that if these rain suits can keep the rain drops out then how can they let sweat out? Vapor yes but not sweat drops.
I get soaking wet when working out in the yard wearing just the insulated insert by itself.
Went fishing Sunday and wore the bibs for the first time. I wear polypropylene/wool long underwear that's 80% polypropylene fibers. Plastic fibers won't absorb moisture like cotton fibers. Wool will stay warm even if it gets wet because the inside of the fibers are hollow and stay dry. I have been reading about the Armor All type Long johns and how they wick the moisture away from the body when you sweat. These polypropylene long johns do the same thing but don't cost an arm and a leg. But if you wear jean over the long johns and under the bibs then the cotton in the jeans can soak up sweat. So how do you keep from getting too hot and getting the middle layers wet?
What does everyone else wear under the insulated bibs?
I am thinking about wearing something made from FLEECE. But what exactly is FLEECE. I mean what type of fibers is Fleece made from? If it's cotton fibers that won't work as cotton retains moisture.
