Run the seafoam all the time. It'll help get rid of carbon buildup as well as cleaning your fuel system and treating your gas at the same time.

    Great News Skeeter:
You fish below the Newburgh Dam? I'll probably see you out there someday soon. River is predicted to be at 30 ft today or tomorrow and then start dropping. I went down to the Yankeetown ALCOA Boat Launch ramp on the Little Pigeon Creek and saw that it was about 3 to 5 ft below the level of the parking lot that day. That was two days ago, Tue Dec 26th the day right after Christmas. I may check it out again to calibrate my mental picture of what the launch ramp looks like when the river is at 30ft. It may be flooded today as the river has come up a bit since last Tuesday. The Little Pigeon Creek was muddy and had a STRONG CURRENT flowing that day. I don't know how fast it was going but I estimate it as SWIFT. Much greater than 4 mph current in that water. I would not want to put a boat in there that day.

Makes me wonder where the fish go in that creek when the flow is so swift. Maybe they go into hiding in the eddies somewhere. Upstream from that launch ramp the creek has a few sharp bends and curves around a bit. They may go up there and get into some slack waters.

I found some aerial photographs of this area on the Internet. Terra server and Google both have free satellite photos of this area as well as all of INDIANA. The resolution is limited and the photos are not color but what the hey, they are free. And they give us a good idea of where the creeks run and the topography around the creek. They also have a hybrid view which combines a map view that shows the major roadways and the satellite photo all blended into one view. I like the hybrid view best as I can figure out which roads to use to get somewhere. I am going to go view Snaky Point today.

I looked at the Ohio River below the Locks at Newburgh, IN last Tuesday. I was driving along the River in Newburgh, IN and looking East. Man ALCOA was pouring out the smoke that day. Water on the river was at 27 ft if my memory serves me right and I didn't see any boats out on the river. It was pretty windy that day too I think. River looked rough and there was a lot of floating debris like logs etc. The water was way up and the launch ramp and parking lot at Newburgh by the old dam was shut down. It was blocked off with a gate or chains and you could see that the water was up over the parking lot there.

Hopefully the river will fall and the Newburgh Officials will get out there and clean off the muddy concrete. I've see the mud one foot deep or more on that parking lot after the river falls back down. That Ohio River sure carries a lot of silt and mud along with it.

Hey just wandering if Alcoa has a hot water discharge in the Ohio. If they do that could be a good place to fish. If the weather stays like this I will be out trying to figure out the river. It must go down soon though in order for us fishermen to have good day on the water.
    see ya boys.

I don't know for sure about ALCOA or any hot water discharge. I would have to do some research or asking around to answer that question. But I do know that peole tell me that there is a lot of BARGE TRAFFIC in that section of the river so be careful and watch out for the tow boats etc.
