    River2Sea crankbaits

    Hello All,

    I am asking about the quality and or success anyone has had with baits manufactured by River2Sea. Primarily the deep diver model;
    http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/descp...2S-R2SHDD.html

    I found them on the tacklewarehouse web site, and they appear to be of good quality. I am looking for a cheaper alternative than LuckyCraft or Megabass lures.

    They are listing them for $6.99, as opposed to $16.99 for LuckyCraft or $18.99 for the deep divers.

    thanks ahead of time,
    topwater

    RE: River2Sea crankbaits

    Well, I guess from the replies that no one has used these baits.

    What about the Rapala "Glass" series, in deep running/suspending model? They look like they would work especially in clear water, which is what I usually am fishing.

    Just looking for ways not to spend $18 bucks a lure on LuckyCraft. I love the expensive lures, just can't fill the box with them.

    TW ,
    The Rapala Glass Raps are good baits , Ive had good luck with them . I dont many Luckycraft due to price and the only River2Sea baits I have are the soft plastic craws which are very life-like . I also like Yo-zuri cranks and they are not to costly . Ive found that its better to have mix of crankbaits - the fish will tell you which ones they want on any given day . I also really dont like the fact that Luckycrafts baits are so high because of the Bass Pro's who sell them . The same goes for new bass boats , most high end pro's get a new boat every year and guess who pays for it . It seems most fishing gear has really shot up in price over the last ten years . Anyway , I plan on doing some trout fishing @ Green-Sullivan if there is no ice and maybe hitting Turtle creek tomorrow or Friday - Ill post my results when I get back !

    RE: River2Sea crankbaits

    Thanks for the info. I plan on getting a couple of the "glass" lures and trying them out.

    I have a few of the Yozure Hardcore crankbaits, but taclewarehouse.com only sells one model. The yozuri website shows a bunch of different styles that I have not seen anywhere. Maybe BassPro has them in the store but not online. I really like that new rootbeer color they show on their website. Looks good. The model they call the Crank-N-Shad, I only found at a Walmart about 3 years ago and they don't have them anymore, I guess it was too high price for your Walmart anglers and they stopped carrying them. Now I don't see them anywhere.

    I had good luck with the chartruese color of the Yozuri. It worked real well almost like a topwater, throw it and let it set and then on about the third crank it would get hit. I never caught anything on it when it got to depth.

    Gander Mountain carries a lot of Yozuri lures, but almost all are the minnow baits, and a lot of pike and muskie sizes. I shake my head everytime I go in there in Terre Haute and try to tell them what to get in that will sell. The only line they really cover well is Rapala, and Yamamoto senko selection. Other than that, they don't have a clue and don't seem interested in listening either to the anglers that come in and ask for products.

    thanks again for the info
