Bass can be caught on a spinnerbait any time of year. I like a double willow leaf chart/white skirt ... most of the time. For me a spinnerbait is a numbers bite and not necessarily a quality bite. Most folks coming to Guntersville are looking for the bass of a lifetime. That's why I suggested the lures I did. Good Luck!!
I forgot to mention a 10" Power Worm (green pumpkin or junebug)with a 1/16 or 1/8 oz pegged weight. Swim it along the weed edges and let it drop into holes in the weeds. Fish typically spawn first in the upper part of the lake, so you might find a few late spawners in the lower end of the lake ... depending on the weather/water temp.
Thanks for the info I will yell back at you when we get a little closer to going. Everybody says you are the guy to ask.
