Pickwick Lake

Do any of you guys ever fish Pickwick Lake? I wanted to try to get down there and camp. Are there any good places to camp and be near some good smallie action around the end of May? Thanks.

I would camp at Joe Wheeler State Park and fish Wilson Lake instead of Pickwick at the end of May. I've caught bigger smallies in Wilson than I have in Pickwick, especially that time of year.
McFarland Park in Florence just below Wilson Dam, in the upper reaches of Pickwick, also has good camping facilities.

Veterans park campground in Florence right at Dam you can fish tail waters below dam with a chart. grub for smallies or fish the lake above with whatever for smallies or largemouth CHEAP and CLOSE to both...
