Johnson 70 hp

if any of you have owned a johnson 70 hp 1977 could you tell me where the water discharge is from the water pump,most motors you see have a steaty stream of water shooting out from the side.i just put in new impler and thermostat, ive only owned the boat a short time so never noticed where the discharged was before or if you can even see the discharge, after doing the work took the boat out all day no problem but would like to put my mind at ease.thanks in advance for any thoughs on this subject

Im not sure ,but I had a johnson and the water port was straight out of the exhaust,put some water ears on and crank it up and see if the water comes out of the exhaust .

water did come out of the exaust port when the thermostat was out, but not now. fished all day sunday with no problems overheating,makes me think the pump is pumping water,right? you think the water is discharging some where else? thanks
