i run a skeeter ss140(17'8")with a yamaha 130.probably 70% of the time i fish evening tournaments and club tournaments by myself.(light load)the prop i have always had on this engine is a 13 1/2 x 22 pitch 3 blade.does great with top speed of 54 to 55 mph at 5800 rpm.this past weekend i fished with one of my friends(big guy)full tank of gas and plenty of fishing tackle.(heavy load)the best the boat would do is 47 mph at 5000 rpm.i could not trim over 5000 rpm because the prop would blow out.would not bite the water.i need suggestions or advice on what prop i need to go to when i have a heavy load on this boat.do i need to go to a 19 pitch prop or can i get by with a 21 pitch prop. will a 4 blade prop help me? thanks for any help.
