    bullet boats

Anybody got anything to say about Bullet boats. For instance such as handling on the water, how do they perform in rough water, ride, etc. I am thinking about trying to purchase one.

    Thanks

    RE: bullet boats

I'm a little biased, but I can tell you I would not carry them at our store if they were not Top Notch Boats. We have dropped companies whose product we sold because they did not seem to hold up to the Plapp's Standard, and I can tell you Bullet is not one of those companies.

Bullet makes one of the finest quality boats in the business. I've seen 15 year old Bullets that would put most other boats to shame. With Bullet being a small company they are able to build the boats slower and with more precision. As far as ride, handling and fishability goes, their up there with the best.

Let me know if you want to ride in one and see first hand. I have numerous team guys that run Bullets.

high quality, high performance, one of the best looking bass boats on the water.bullet boats are built for speed.they will not ride or handle as well as a triton, skeeter or ranger in rough water.but the reason for that is simple.a 21' bullet will weigh 15 to 20 percent less than a 21' ranger. but dont let the lightweight hull keep you from buying one.bullet is a very safe boat.and most of the time no other boat can run with a bullet.my friend has a 20' skeeter with a 225 yamaha and he tells me he cant keep up with the 21' bullets with 200 hp on them.

    RE: bullet boats

I have to disagree with the rough water comment. My friend has a Bullet 21 f'er with a 225 Merc. EFI and it rides as good as any boat out there. The biggest drawback I see on his Bullet is the seats. If you could get a padded seat like a Ranger or Triton seat------you'd never know the difference. Now, the 20 f'er's are a little different. They are built for speed---flat out---not for big water ride. Although they do have a decent ride---the 21 f'er is the one you want for ride. The 21 is the Cadillac and the 20 is the Corvette.
BTW---his 2003 Bullet 21 f'er is for sale, if you are interested. Let me know.

Most of the people who will tell you a bullet don't ride good has never been around one. I can tell you from experience I have had 2 20xd's (which I run one now) and 1 21xd. It is just like the statement the 21 is a cadillac and the 20xd is a corvette.

Reid Cox is a fishing buddy of mine. He is the sales director for Bullet. His demo is the boat that won the shoot out a year or so ago.I dont fish a Bullet, I have fished a Norris Craft for years. In fact Reid sold me the last two I have owned;however, I will be in a Bullet when I make my next purchase. They are faster than an Allison, fish more comfortable than a Triton or Ranger and Ride as good as a Ranger or Champion. The decks are big and level. The seats dont have to have 8 inches of foam to absorb the bumps, Having said that I will add. Dont under power the boat. It is designed to ride best on the pad running fast. If you let it wallow in the water is will ride no better than anything else.It is extremely stable and smooth at speed. Fish2win

    RE: bullet boats

I want to know the shoot out Reid Cox won???
Bullets ride great and thats why I own one,The 21'10 rides better in rough water than the 20' Bullet but it still does very good. They are one of the best riding boats I have owned and fish better than anything I have owned.
    I have owned 2 tr-21 Tritons(98&2002),2 Norris Crafts,1 Ranger,1Blazer,1 Stroker,4 Allison's,3 Bullets(2-21'1-20xdc)
The best riding boat I have owned was 2 Allison's XTB 21's I would put them up aginst anything.I own a Bullet because they ride great and fish even better.
I can bring my 21xdc Bullet out and also a 21 XTB Allison if any non believers are up to the challenge.
If you are looking for a new boat dont listn to all the BS go ride and decide, these things cost to much money to be unhappy,Bullets And Allisons arnet for everybody but ride in one!!!

Also Bullets are not faster than Allisons!!!!

    RE: bullet boats

Ky Allison is correct. Bullets are nice fishin platforms. Allison are also. Bullets are not faster than Allisons. Allison's own the world speed records.Don't ever take the words of anyone in buying a boat. Go take a test ride in them all. I've fish for the past 25yrs. I've fished out of every brand know to man.Even a few that are no longer made. Bullet and Allison quality is second to none. Their ride is also second to none. I sold my Ranger to buy a Allison. I didn't buy it for the speed. I bought it for the ride. After all it had a 150 on it.{my Allison} For any of you no believer Ky Allison and Myself are willing to take anyone for a test ride and show you that Allison's and Bullets handle well in rough water.

    RE: bullet boats

I've been bashed for posting this everytime I post it, but it is true.

I bought my last boat 4 years ago. I spent over 2.5 years shopping. I looked at a bullet. It was a slick boat, but I did not like the looks of it... that is just a personal thing. I thought the finish of the boat was very good though. Nothing like a lot of the entry level boats... e.g. Blazers.

The two things that kept me from buying one well... actually three things...

    1) I did not fit under the console for the use of a hot foot. The console is, or was small and low.

    2) I'm a big guy, 6'3" and over 300 lbs, when I got out of the boat, I put my hand on the gunnal and swung myself out of the boat to the floor. I felt the gunnal give under my weight. I did not like that at all. Could be just a fluke on that one boat... I don't know. I just know how that one boat felt and did.

    3) The particular dealer upset me, and I decided that even if I wanted a Bullet, I would have to find a different dealer.

Now I've not looked at Bullets since the end of '01, so I can't speak to boats that are newer or older.

Good luck, and get what fits you the best.

    Tight lines and God Bless

    Danny

    Reids Boat

I think he was referring to the Shoot Out in Bass and Walleye Magazine.

    RE: bullet boats

I have had all brands of boats and the 21 xd Bullet is perfect for me.
The quote above stating that the gunnal gives :) you can look at bullets 10 years old and not find stress cracks on them anywhere.
Get someone to take you out for a ride and you decide
