    RE: bullet boats

SURE GUYS, THESE ALLISONS AND BULLETS ARE BEAUTIFUL, AND FAST, BUT FOR SERIOUS FISHING, A RANGER BOAT IS THE WAY TO GO, SOLID, FAST ENOUGH, AND CADILLAC COMFORT......THANKS AND HAPPY FISHIN... HEY THEY EVEN STILL BUILD 'EM ONE AT A TIME..........;-)

You couldn't give me 10 rangers for 1 21XD bullet, I have been in the 519 ranger and they will beat you to death. If I owned any cookie cutter boat, it would be a Triton.

I agree with the Ranger ride. If you're fishing the big waters like Ky Lake or Barkley, that extra weight and solid ride is a great thing to have when you're battling 3 - 5 ft rollers on a windy day. Now if you plan on fishing the river lakes (Nolin, Rough, etc.) then by all means go with a Bullet. Bullet boats look sharp and have that "race boat" feeling to them. My advice is to pick what's best for you and the lakes you fish. Ranger holds it's value very very well and is extremely comfortable to fish from. Good luck with what ever you decide!

I fish lake barkley at least once a month and I have never not been able to go wherever I wanted to. We could continue to debate all day and night about which boat rides better, My advice is just to get someone to take you a ride in any of them before you buy one, just so you know that you will be happy with whatever you decide to buy.:-)

Well said Chris! My last partner had a Ranger. He will tell you my Allison rode better than his 519 ever did. We all have our own opinions that's why there are so many brands out there. Every boat has it Strengths and weakness.Good luck on what ever you buy. If I didn't own a Allison I'd consider a Bullet.

    3-5ft rollers

Never rode in a bullet, but a 520ranger and a 519 can't say i was impressed to spend 40,000 on one,the 201 pro stratos is my pick, rode in tritons too they are good but things i didn't like.As far as 3 ft rollers you can tame,4ft on up nothing is gonna be too smooth,i hear guys say my rig, whatever it is, can run 60mph on top of 3 or 4 ft rollers, maybe but as soon as you get a rogue that throws the "hop" off time you'll be in the hospital just like Leon.i know a fellow who has an allison and says it is an awesome ride, must be he's had it a long time and his 175 will outrun all cookie cutter rigs with 225hp.

Whisker hits it on the head

All the boats offer something good, that is why there is more than one boat company.

The thing I have noticed the most about rides is that it is the skill of the driver that makes the most difference.

I've had extremely rough rides in a Ranger, and extremely smoothe rides.

In fact, early on, my Triton rode really rough, but is much smoother now. The only real difference is my driving. I think that is the thing for all boats.
