    Triton or Stratos

I am thinking of buying a new boat, and was wondering what boat you all thought was better for the money and why. I like both boats, but just can't decide.
    Thanks.

    RE: Triton or Stratos

this is a tough one.i like both boats too.i have fished out of both boats and they handle rough water well(20' boats)if you are surfing the web for new boats it looks like the stratos is a little less money than the triton.some tritons have a few more bells and whistles than the stratos.there are several holdover 2006 models on the internet.if you want a 175hp engine or larger on your new boat get ready for sticker shock!!! my neighbor thought he would have a new skeeter by now but because of the pricing he will probably buy a used one.

    RE: Triton or Stratos

You wont be dissapointed with either one. One thing I would like to throw into the choice is which motor. With the new motors out there on the market today you will need a good tech if anything should happen. I personally think that the direct injection motors (OPTI, HPDI, E-TECH) are the only way to go. I would choose a dealer that has a mechanic/tech that is up to date on the new motors. Basically what I am trying to say is find a good dealer that can service your needs and if he sells Triton and Stratos it is a coin flip. If i were going to resell the boat within a few years the Triton will probbally hold its resale better. If your looking to be in that ride for several years Stratos would be my choice. Money wise Stratos will be less expensive. One of the reasons for that is because Trition pumps alot of money into advertisment in tournament fishing. Like it or not be we are the ones that pay for the free ride that the sponsored pros get whether you tournament fish or not. In 07 Stratos has cut out all of there pros but one and have passed the savings on to the customer buy actually marking down the price some of the 07 model boats. The 294 Stratos is a 19'6" boat with a 200 hp motor. Price wise it will be hard to beat that combo.

Give me a call, I work for Plapps and would be more than happy to tell you the benefits of owning a Triton, Skeeter or a Bass Cat.

As someone that has ridden in both, but never owned either, it would be an easy choice of Stratos for me.
