BIRD HUNTING WHAT KIND OF DOG DO YOU HAVE

DOES ANYBODY PHEASANT HUNT OR ANY OTHER KIND OF BIRD HUNTING. JUST BOUGHT A DOG LOOKING FOR INFO ON DO'S AND DONT'S ON TRIANING HER.

Dont let the dog play with sticks, cause if you do then the dog will always bring a stick to you when your outside. And always appraise the dog alot when she does something good.

I have always hunted with German Shorthairs but recently have become the proud new owner of a lab. Who out there has hunted upland birds with labs, how do they perform? Is there any differences in the way you would train a lab compared to a shorthair?

My girlfriend has a shorthair (house dog); it always points through my windows at squirrels; wonder if it would take to squirrel hunting?

Sounds like that dog has hunting in its blood, take him out and give him a try. Why Not? Cant hurt I dont guess.
