I would use Dave Smoot, he is out of lexington and has a pick up at backwaters, hes prompt, good, and reasonable. It sounds like you have gear or shaft issues, you did check the shear pin?

My trolling motor has decided to stop working. When I hit the button the light for the direction comes on but the blade will not spin. I have one of the older Johnson motors that is a 12 and 24 volt. Anyone have any ideas what might be wrong or know anyone that might be able to repair it at a reasonable cost. I am located in Richmond by the way.

Could be something wrong with the brushes too. I would get with Dave Smoot. He's the man on trolling motors. I think you can drop it off at Backwaters and he will come by and pick it up and drop it back off at BW's when he is finished. You might call Backwaters and check. 266-4506
