Those smallmouth are best caught at night around the bridge there at Kenlake. Try drop shotting the piers during the day. At night, try tubes along the rip-rap. Hope this helps!
If you want to try for any kind of fish, live minnows are very productive around the piers at the same bridge. There's some blue cats to be caught as well as sauger, white bass, and of course smallmouth.
Have fun! :)
Do you do any night fishing for smallmouth?
If so would you like to get together and go?
Let me know

Yes sir I do! However, I haven't been lucky enough to go but once this year. This summer has been busy with school, work, the U of L tournaments, BFL, and some local tournaments! I used go a bunch when I was in college at Murray State with my fraternity brothers. We'd hit the water at ten at night and never touch the big motor. We would just slow fish the banks around Pisgah and Smith Bay on Kentucky Lake. The chunk rock on the banks and the area around the Rock Quarry held a lot of smallies back then! I would imagine that they still do.
Give me a holler sometime and we'll go!
