RE: AND THE WINNER OF $50,000 IS........

Actually the front page of the flyer and website always stated $50,000 Guaranteed---they never misrepresented that. The rest of the winning was based on 1500 boats. They have learned that advertising a whole lot earlier in the year will help the success of this tournament.
Believe it or not, they paid out alot of money for the small amounts of boats that showed up. I am sure there are many people who are kicking themselves for not fishing this tournament, now that theyknow it was true and $50,000 was payed out.

RE: AND THE WINNER OF $50,000 IS........

Actually, everything we printed said that the the $50,000 was guaranteed and that the total of all other prizes would be increased or decreased $10,000 for every 100 entrants over or under 1500. We always knew that we would be paying out $50,000 no matter what and it was our hope that we would have enough entrants to not have to reduce the other money (even if we didn't get the 1500), but we were not that fortunate.

If we would have had enough entrants, we would have paid out 1st, 2nd & 3rd for 6 hourly weigh-ins at every site for everyday. That is 18 prizes times 5 sites times 3 days. That equals 270 hourly prizes and each would have been a minimum of $100. Plus we would've paid 10 places in the two super pools! That's 290 chances to at least win your money back, plus some. I think that is EXCITING!!!!!

Even with 1500 entrants, that's like paying 3 of every 15 people. Are those not good odds? Especially when you have a shot at $50,000 and you know for a fact that it is sitting at the end of the rainbow!!!

I think this is a great format that spreads the money when you have enough people to spread it to!

I for one will be there next year, would have this year but work didn't permit it.I too only seen the flier a week ago when i went to nolin at smitty city, bad thing was they were laying in the window where you couldn't hardly see them i had set down at a table waiting for my dad to get some grub before hitting the water,i saw it by accident.
also it was the same weekend as the fiddlers and the barren big fish tournament turn outmay be better if it didn't conflict...of course they don't have a chance at 50 g's either.
congratulatoins to the winner i can only imagine what it feels like to know you may have 50,000 on the end of your line,,i get excited at a couple hundred dollars.

I have a lot of friends who are looking forward to next year. If we had known sooner then maybe we could have made the trip down. Definatly worth a shot. Alot of folks didn't here about it until it was done over. I would expect a lot better turnout next time with a little more publicity across the state.
