    RE: River Rats Tournament

    Ok Fellow fishermen,

I had an experience this evening on the river. My partner caught a Largmouth Bass in the evening tournament. He hooked the fish deep in the gills on a crankbait and after working slow to extract to get teh hooks out and try to keep the fish alive the fish died after about 45 minutes. After examining the fish before the weigh -in, I looked down the throat of the fish and guess what I found stuck in the throat of the fish? A Small Gar, the only thing sticking out left ogf the gar was the long nose of the gar, so I don't know really if the Hooks in the gills killed the fish or the Gar stuck in the throat killed the bass...No matter anyway...rules were changed before the stsrt of the tournament and the dead fish cost us the tournament....Better luck next time....Right now my Partner is still steaming over losing by the new rule, but I explained it this way...It's no different than him going to the Horse racing track and losing in a photo finsih by a nose at the wire.... Good luck to all and tight lines of course....
