ANYONE KNOW ANYTHING BOUT BASS TORUNEYS ON CEDAR CREEK?
ky.bass busters and cedar creek lake outfitters are planning an open tourn.april 15.its still in the planning, but look for more info here or call randy at c.c.l.o.606 355 0100.
the open we are planning will have a 20" size limit.
cool be a tough tourney
YEA THEY DID DROP THE LIMIT GUESS THEY COULDNT HAND WITH THE SIZE LIMIT WE HAVE TO HUH LOL.BUT ITS TOUGH CATCHIN THE SIZE LIMIT LIKE THAT FOR A TOURNEY.I JUST HOPE THE DONT RUIN THAT LAKE LIKE THEY DID OLD STANFORD CITY LAKE.
There was a couple out there last year but they were all closed tourneys, meaning you have to be a club member. I know that they had a shorter size limit just for the tourney, it's kinda hard to have tourneys on that lake with the 1 fish and the 20" size limit but I'd say in a few years that will change as the lake gets older and better population of fish.
I'd like to have a Fishin.com Tourney on a lake here in central Ky, there more than enough people on here to get one going.
HOW CAN THEY HAVE A SHORTER SIZE LIMIT FOR THE TOURNAMENTS???????
>HOW CAN THEY HAVE A SHORTER
>SIZE LIMIT FOR THE TOURNAMENTS???????
EASY .... catch, measure, release --- it's called a "paper size limit", he/they who catch the most "total" inches, wins. It's a "gentlemans agreement" to be honest in your measurements.
There would HAVE to be rules of this nature used, to even think of having a tourney on this lake.
Let's ask the "busters" & "outfitters" about the RULES they intend to use in their OPEN tourney -- how's that gonna work ? Just how many 20+ inch fish do we think are in this lake, already ??
I don't think this lake was designed for tournament use, given the size of it - the "trophy" nature of it - and the age of it. And if I remember correctly ... the "first" tournament held there, there were no "legal" fish caught - therefore, no fish "weighed in". That should have been a red flag !!
I'm not anti-tournament ... but the lake rules (size/creel limit) dictate that it be given time to produce more than a handful of "legal" fish. I'm more concerned about the "trashing" of the lake - the "meathogs" REMOVING short fish - and the introduction of Shad.
And what's going to happen when the lake DOES start producing numbers of 20+ inch fish ?? Instinct tells me the KDFWR is going to raise the length limit. Then we're back to square one.
It'll be interesting to watch how all this plays out. .... cp
Thanks crappiepappy...I thought most everyone knew that, but I guess I was wrong.
Be careful what you post on the worldwide net. Always clarify, if you reread your post you'll see why we questioned it.

Cedar is my only experience crappie fishing and it nothing to pull up on a spot and catch 50+ crappie but few if any will be 9", it's a blast but also pisses me off when you see people on the bank catching some of the same fish and putting them on a stringer.

Well I guess I can't argue that.
Now if they could only get rid of the shad you'd have those slab crappie...but that's another story....LOL!!! Looks what's having to be done to Lake Corrinth,
