RE: Fishin.com Tournament

LAST EDITED ON Jan-14-06 AT 05:54PM (EST)[p]I'll throw my vote in for GRL, there's plenty of fish, it not hit hard by pleasure boater, no motor restrictions and it's pretty centraly located. I like Good Friday as the date, but any saturday or sunday will work.

Depending on the # of boats I'd vote on Willisburg or Wood creek, maybe Herrington

My vote is for either Herrington or Cumberland. Good Friday would be a good time, in my opinion.

RE: Fishin.com Tournament

It really doesn't matter to me where it's held. If Jim Dicken is gonna be there like in the past, then I'd say it needs to be accessable for him. I'd travel anywhere in the state tho, even Dale Hollow.

This was your idea and I'm just trying to help out as I put the First Annual Fishin.com Tournament on at Barren.

You can pick where you want to have it,or do like we did last year...let the board vote.

Anyhow, I'm just offering my "expert" help if needed or I can just be a participant and put ALL my effort into winning the pot.

RE: Fishin.com Tournament

If the tourney will be open to all fishin.com members, I'd like to join in the activities and would probably have a spare seat for a non boater. I would support Laurel, C-Land, GRL or Dale.
Thanks

RE: Fishin.com Tournament

i think there is enough intrest to have one at three locations....maybe one at barren....one at dale or ky.....and one at herrington....take the top say 10 teams from each and have a fish off at green river lake.....that would give the guys some time on there home lake and then evryone who done well a fish off at a different site......joe

RE: Fishin.com Tournament

Well it seems that several people are interested in having fishing.com tourneys, now who is going to be the one in charge of organizing? Seems like there has been alot of interest. I agree this would be some good get togethers for all of the fishin.com guys.

RE: Fishin.com Tournament

I would like to fish it as long as I do not have to work. I live in Louisville and would prefer Barren or Rough. I would try to make it at any lake. I am interested in meeting all of the the folks on the board.

jeremys, and jimwldct...

The way we did the vote in the past is to post a message asking those interested to just make a vote in the thread with the name of a lake, and maybe one back up lake. Then someone would take a talley, and name the winner.

jim, in the past, we have always had a lot of interest, but really not too many show up. The first one, I hurt my back the day before the get together pre-fishing the lake, and had to go home. The second, last year, I had a previous obligation. Both years I don't think there was a whole lot of folks to show up. Maybe however, as you suggested, two or three locations may yield more people, but organizing and planning could be a nightmare. The logistics, food... and jimd deserves a big thanks for providing the meat.... well it was a lot to get together.

We also have a traveling trophy, a gold toliet seat. Franswa won the first year, but I don't remember who took it from him last year, and that is who has possession right now. The trophy passes from winner to winner.
