    greenfish report

got out today on one of the reservoirs here in lexington, I know what your thinking, its full of fish, well its stocked pretty good but with the water temps less than 40 I thought it would be a challenge. Ended up catchin 3, 2 pigs, both between 4-5 lbs and another 3 lber, the big fish came on LC jerks on flats close to deep water and the other fish came off of a rock pile on a hump about 6 ' deep on a grub. The two big fish were both less than 4 feet deep. We were out tuesday and didnt have a bite but Im figuring the nice sunny day brought them up to feed. Dont miss out on these warm days guys, the fish still come up shallow just gotta be patient to fish for 'em, good day on the water no matter what lake it is ;)

Hey Buzz, what size and colors do you prefer in LC jerks? I've been thinking about spending the high prices on 2 or 3 this year... I agree with your results. Great day! I assume you were on Ellerslie or one of the lakes off Richmond Rd. I've had good days on both lakes fishing for crappie, bass and walleye...

The warm days we've had have produced some good results for me as well. My buddy and I had 2 over 6 pounds on January 2. That's me holding a 6.12 on the front page of this site. I caught her with a suspending Smithwick jerk in gold, black back, orange belly. I love this bait and this bait in clown color.

it was the lake on the inside of new circle, I have an apartment there. And on the LC's if the water is clear I LOVE the american shad, if its got some color you cant beat the tennessee shad. And yes the paint jobs do catch a lot of fisherman, BUT I had two other people in the boat with me throwin rogues and huskie jerks and they blanked, Ill keep buyin em, they got me hook line and sinker

Please take the b ball team out next time and drown them! No wait, take a basketball with you and when you are in the middle of the lake have anyone of them take a shot and see if they can hit the water. If not, then drown them!

Thanks Buzz. As for buying LC baits, the only baits I will purchase will be the jerks. They look so realistic. They have to make a difference, and catch more fish, when you're dead sticking them in clear, 40 degree water. With regular cranks and lipless baits, I won't pay those high LC prices.

Used to fish the second and third lake when I was a college student at UK. I think my apartment was at Sonnet Cove? Really enjoyed fishing those lakes. Used to kill them on a Bagleys crankbait. My biggest bass was over 5lb from the 2nd lake and I saw a couple close to that out of the 3rd lake. Good to hear that the fishing is still great.
