Matrix 97 Finder/GPS

I am considering buying a Matrix97 fish finder/GPS combo. Does anyone currently use this finder or know any one who does ? If so, Have you or they been happy with it, Is there something out there better in that price range ( $ 850.00) How easy is this unit to use and is map availability decent ? Any help is appreciated. That is alot of money to spend and I want to make an educated decision.

I recieved the Matrix 17 fish finder for Christmas. I know this is several levels down from the 97. I was satisfied when I opened the box, but when I hooked it up to see all that it would do I was blown away for what a less than $200 finder would do. The GPS on mine is really good. I took the route of just hooking my hand held to it rather than purchasing the GPS reciever. Very sensitive reading and clear picture. I can't imagine what the 97 would be like.

Thanks pastorbass ! That is the kind of input I am looking for. May even reconsider paying the big price tag for the 97 model and looking at that model instead.

I have the Matrix 67 w/ GPS and love it! For the money, I don't think you can beat it. I am seriously thinking about getting the 97 for the console and moving my 67 up front.

I got my Matrix 97 today, can beat the price off ebay. $630.00 new + $14.00 shipping......time to hook it up and learn how to use it.
