Why change a good thing??! Go back to Barren. Folks we haven't heard a thing from our leader, Jim Dicken. He might have to work
if he's still driving a big rig. He usually sets everything up
such as making sure we get a pavilion for the get together as well as get's most of the eats together. He also gets donations such as baits and such to give away at the pavilion.
The winner gets the prestigeous golden trophy to cherish all
year or until someone else catches a bigger fish the following year
Tony is a good fellow to run the tourney while Jim prepares the pavilion. Last year Jim was present at weigh-in and done the weigh-in as well as took pictures of our fish and presented the trophy's, (complements of Silver Ranger) (Tony) Tony couldn't make the tourney but wanted to be a part of it so he bought the trophy's with his own money. Now folks, that's a good person. Tony's tops in my book.
For the sake of the new folks on the discussion board, this is a
"big fish" tourney. They usually pay 3 places with around 12 boats participating. Seems as though everybody talks about fishing the tourney but few actually take part. We have lotsa fun after the tourney that usually lasts from 8AM to 2PM Eastern time, then head for the pavilion for some fine grilled vittles.
Doug, please bring your wife. That gal makes the best tater salad I ever tasted. Bring your boss and grill Calvin, that woman has to keep you and I straight!!
Everybody gets hopped up about the tourney, but we're actually having the get together to get acquainted with each other and
find out everybody's real name and the tourney is a drawing card.
If ya don't want to fish, you can still attend the get together after the tourney's over. If you want to bring something to
eat, that's fine. Or if you don't, you don't have to.
So you guys put your money where your mouth is and come on down
and get your feet wet and get fed afterwards.
Ok boy's let's GITERDONE!!!!
