    finding Taylorsville crappie

I know crappie go to deep water in winter, but just how deep would you have to fish in this lake? Would it be at the **** in 60'or mid point of the lake @ 40' around the timber or can you find them closer to Van Burrin?

I have been there 2 times here lately and can not find them. I have not been crappie fishing very long, so still learning what they do all year. Thinking about going this sunday after church.

I've never done any good when the crappie are staging in deep water, But I have had good success fishing where points meet timber when the Crappie are about 6 t0 8 foot deep.

I did catch a 15 inch crappie at T-Ville once pretty skinny but still 15 inches is a good one.

I have done pretty well in cold water there.Try the horseshoe bend area, lots of timber here close to the river channel fish the bigger timber that has the most concetration of limbs and forks.I have the best luck using minnows vertically from 12-20 feet down.If you arent familiar with the lake its best to ride and find a few of these trees before you wet a line.the channel bank just above chowning lane on the right is good too,all the better if there are some cedars around too, if its easy to get your boat and bait in and out i havnt had much luck thicker the better.hopefully this helps you wont get hundreds but youshould be able to get a few of them 12-14 inchers,i had a limit of 15 last winter thad weighed just a little over 22 lbs doing this.

Thanks Mr. Wiskers and to the other post also. I know where you are talking about and will give it a try. The water there is about 30' if I remember right.

Thanks for the help, I hear about horseshoe bend but not sure where that is? From Chowing boat ramp is it back toward the dam? The bank there near the Chowing boat ramp looks deep on the map and with lots of brush. I have only been on T-ville the last part of 2005, and hope to get there more now in 2006. Making plans to be at Chowing boat ramp this Sunday around noon. If anyone would like to join me for a few hours of Crappie fishing just let me know. I have a 20' ProCraft with a lot of room. Welcome to join me Sunday. [email protected]

Fished T-ville today, water (42degrees) stained, looked like they are pulling the lake hard, about 1' today, fished horseshoe bend, both sides, not a bite. Come on SPRING TIME
